I read about your project in the Financial Times today. I thought you might be interested in the story of the Goodman Building. It was a community formed by the tenants of a single room occupancy building on the border of the Tenderloin and Fillmore districts beginning in 1973. They went in rent strike to save their building (later put on the US National Register of Historic Places). They also organized to force the city to build a mixed housing project. They ran the building as a consensus organization which sounds like your project.

I wrote a study of their struggle and process and it was published by Palgrave/Macmillan in 2019 as An Ethnography of the Goodman Building. It is available from them in hard back or ebook form. I could send you a pdf of the book or a hard copy if you were interested.
